Frederick Russell JARVIS was born on 9th December 1918 in Exning [Newmarket Q1-1919 3b:585], the son of Russell Urvin and Lilian JARVIS (née NUNN). His father was from Burwell Road, Exning ( 2nd name Arbon in 1911 census). Frederick married Mary Elizabeth JOHNSON in Q2-1941, registered in Newmarket. They lived at 1 Palace Street, Newmarket. Frederick was a warehouseman.

In the 1939 register, at 8 King George Avenue, Exning, were his father Russell V[6-2-1892] acetylene welder and burner; mother Lily E [22-4-1896] and sister Vera L [30-3-1916] a fruit picker, later Mrs KNIGHTS.


He died of malaria, as a prisoner of the Japanese, on the Burma Railway. He was buried in Wantaokien Cemetery and moved to Kanchanaburi in March 1946.
